The wonders of a waitlist
Noel and Marie Dick made the move into Summerset earlier than expected when they popped by the Prebbleton village for a coffee on their way home.
Having already signed up to the waitlist for a two-bedroom home planned for a later stage in the village development, what had started as a quest for coffee became a life changing decision for the couple.
Prebbleton village sales manager, Grace Hickland had been in regular contact with the waitlisted couple. Being on the Summerset VIP Waitlist means getting access and updates to village development and brand-new homes before they’re released to the public and gives wait listers the peace of mind knowing their home of choice is secure. Knowing the couples’ preferences for home and lifestyle, when Grace saw Noel and Marie pull into the village for a coffee, it was the opportune time to show them a brand-new home that had just been completed, giving them first dibs and a VIP tour before it was released to market.
“When we signed up to the waitlist for a two-bedroom home, we were planning ahead with a two to three year timeframe. While were out one day we decided we’d stop into the village for a coffee on our way home. Grace was out at the coffee cart and said, ‘I’m glad you two have come in, I want to show you something.’ We went for a walk around a three-bedroom villa with all-day sun in a great location, went home and discussed it and the next day we phoned Grace, switched our waitlist home choice to the three-bedroom and we moved in two months later. It was the best decision we made.”
Making the move earlier than expected has made the couple happier than ever. They’ve gathered a great group of resident friends and are always eager to welcome new people to their social group. Having owned a landscaping and garden supply company for 25-years’, Noel and Marie love contributing to communal planting activities and have even added their own touch to the village swale, from coloured lights to a feature rock sourced from an old gold mine.
“We've shown a lot of people through our home because there's a big difference between a show home and a lived in home, so they get a sense of the space. The people who’ve toured our home, do come and see us after they’ve moved in. We call ourselves the ‘early settlers’ as we’re some of the youngest in the village. We’ve met a lovely group of people around our age, some a little older, but they're people that are just like us, active and get out and do things. We’ve made more friends now than we've ever done in our whole life.”
Being on a VIP waitlist at Summerset means customers get priority access to newly available homes that best match their preferences before they’re released to the public, just like Noel and Marie. But if the timing isn’t quite right to make the move, customers stay on the list and keep their priority. They also receive exclusive invitations to VIP Waitlist-only village events.
