A Summerset World

Our very own show highlighting the variety and vibrancy of life at Summerset and introducing the wonderful residents who call our villages home

Produced & directed by Kiwi actor William Kircher, A Summerset World is part of the Summerset Sessions, an entertainment series featuring a variety of content, filmed specifically for our residents and friends of Summerset.

Each episode profiles a different Summerset village and showcases the talents and interests of the residents living there — giving us a glimpse into what makes each village a fun, unique and interesting place to live.

Join William as he explores different villages across NZ and keep following to see “where in the Summerset World” he is off to next!

Summerset Pohutukawa Place

In this episode, we visit Summerset at Pohutukawa Place, Bell Block in the Taranaki region. Join us as we meet some of the talented and active residents who call this Summerset home. Whether you like fishing, interior design, crafts, rugby, exercise or music, this episode has a taste of it all!

Summerset in the Sun

For this episode, we are in the aptly named Summerset in the Sun in sunny Nelson. Join us as we explore some of the village’s eco-friendly gardens and meet some of the talented and active residents who call this Summerset home. Whether you like art, fashion, nature, sport, e-bikes or music, this episode has a taste of it all!

Summerset Richmond Ranges

At Summerset Richmond Ranges we meet some talented woodcarving friends, chat with an ex-NZ rugby league legend, and take a line dancing class. The printing group shows us their creations and we sit down with a resident mother-daughter duo, with the latter then taking us on a private viewing of the village artists corner, where her works are being featured.

Summerset on Cavendish

The active lifestyles of Summerset on Cavendish’s residents shines through in this episode. We take a look at the CB Fit Exercise class, the walking group show us a local gem they love to hike and the bowlers show us how it’s done. We follow Lilly the dog on her adventures and visits around the village and are then treated to a variety of creative delights including handmade cards, toys, wood carvings, and the works of the Stitching Sistas.

Summerset at Wigram

This episode kicks off with a quick stop in Italy, with the help of our SilVR Adventure headsets. Continuing our journey, we get a resident's welcome from Julie, take a guided walk around two award winning gardens, peruse the painting groups’ works of art, and take off in a flight simulator! We’re then treated to a private musical performance, a fashion show of homemade steampunk costumes, and a tour of the village in a vintage Model T Ford.

Summerset in the Bay

We love to see “what’s behind the garage door” in our Summerset World episodes and this time we get to see inside not one, but two! There’s also a drive around the village in a beautifully restored 1951 Vauxhall Velox and a wonderful selection of incredible arts and crafts. To finish off our visit we are treated to a special catwalk show of incredible vintage swimwear.

Summerset in the Orchard

It wouldn’t be a trip to Hawkes Bay without enjoying some wonderful local wines and some warm hospitality – in this episode we were lucky enough to join in their Summerset 25th anniversary celebrations. To mark the occasion there’s a craft fair brimming with handcrafted pieces and collections, a special Summerset Shout, songs and of course – cake! We also meet some campervan enthusiasts, adorable Meg the Dog, and some expert puzzlers.

Summerset at the Course

You never quite know “what’s behind the garage door”, and Alan’s collection is no exception (spoiler, it's not a car!). We meet one of Summerset’s youngest residents, Emma and are put through our paces at a resident run exercise class. The episode also introduces the village choir, a soloist, the toe-tapping band and a talented group of knitters — Trentham is brimming with musical and crafty talent!

Summerset by the Ranges

Our first ever episode was filmed in our village in Levin and features a snow village (in Summer!), we get a tour of the wonderful gardens hosted by their Head Gardener extraordinaire, meet some delightful residents and keen crafters, and Ivan entertains us with some Irish charm and music!
