Meet Summerset ambassador Jude Dobson

SCROLL

You might remember her as co-host of Sale of the Century, or read her weekly column in New Zealand Woman's Weekly and now Jude Dobson has become our very own Summerset ambassador!

Jude’s background in nursing, passion for education, and core values make her a ‘perfect fit’ for Summerset, says Scott Scoullar, Summerset CEO.

“She’s a mother and daughter who looked after her late parents, one of whom was in the early stages of dementia,” Scott says.

“She’s authentic, down-to-earth, and someone our residents can relate to.”

Jude will be touring our villages and sharing with us her experiences as she talks with residents.  Be sure to look out for Jude in upcoming advertising campaigns and in her regular column in our Summerset Scene magazine

Jude says that through her work she wants to highlight that “just because you’re over 70, you’re not invisible”.

“There’s … layers of invisibility in society and I’d like to shine a light on the fact that retirement villages are places of living… I don’t think retirement villages are quiet!”

“They’re very full of life from what I see. People having a good time, catching up with the community and the people they know.”

Jude is looking forward to her role with Summerset, saying one of the things she’s most excited about is meeting with the residents themselves.

“I really love finding out stories about people. People are always really interesting, and what I enjoy about older people is finding out what they did in their lives.”
